Common questions

How do I add friends?

Tap Add Friend on the Radar screen, or open the Friends tab and choose Find Friends. Gamma uses your existing iPhone contacts to suggest friends who already have Gamma — no separate signup or account is needed.

Why isn't my location showing up on the radar?

Check that location permission is granted:

  1. Open iOS SettingsPrivacy & SecurityLocation Services
  2. Make sure Location Services is on
  3. Find Gamma in the list and choose While Using the App
  4. Inside Gamma, open the Me tab and confirm "Appear on friends' radar" is on

How do I drop a beacon?

On the Radar screen, tap and hold on a spot to drop a beacon there. You can add a label, an emoji, and an optional expiry time. Friends will see your beacon on their radar.

How do I send a voice drop?

Tap the microphone icon on the radar to record a quick voice clip (up to 15 seconds). You can send it to a specific friend or attach it to a beacon.

How do I block or report someone?

Open the Friends tab, tap on the person, then choose Block or Report. Reports are reviewed promptly. Blocking is immediate and stops all sharing in both directions.

Why am I not getting notifications?

Check your iOS notification settings:

  1. Open iOS SettingsNotificationsGamma
  2. Make sure Allow Notifications is on
  3. Confirm Banners, Sounds, and Badges are enabled if you want them

How do I delete my account or my data?

Gamma has no separate account — your data is tied to your Apple ID via iCloud. To remove your data:
